Discovering Paris: Navigating through the City's Famous Landmarks

In the bustling rhythm of a tightly packed schedule, setting aside time to explore the legendary landmarks of England and France can be quite challenging. Nevertheless, our journey commenced with an early morning arrival in Paris on Sunday, May 3rd. Touching down at seven in the morning, we were greeted by a rather grumpy French driver, who took us to our hotel. After checking in, we still had an entire day to explore the city.

First Impressions: Overcoming Jet Lag

The effects of jet lag lingered as we embarked on our initial sightseeing adventure in Paris. The day blurred as we wandered through the renowned Louvre, taking in its vast and awe-inspiring collections. Despite the fog of fatigue, the experience was unmatched. Come afternoon, we retreated to the hotel for a refreshing nap, attempting to shake off the drowsiness.

Culinary Expectations: A Taste of French Cuisine

That evening, we sampled our first authentic French meal. The menu boasted escargot and duck, traditional French delicacies prepared with a flair typical of the region. However, both the taste and the ambiance fell slightly below our heightened expectations, leaving us yearning for more from the famed French culinary scene.

Monday's itinerary wrapped up with a visit to the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that never fails to captivate. Afterward, we decided to explore the vibrant area surrounding the Waldorf Madeleine Hotel, immersed in its cultural richness and architectural beauty.
