Voices and the smoke of cigarrets came to the room from the other rooms and balcanies. Location was excellent and peacefull.- 28-Feb-2009 Overall the hotel was quite good, but it is a Chinese rated 5 star, not an international 5 star. The rooms are pleasant enough, with an excellent view of Dadonghai Bay. It did however have some serious drawbacks; the service at breakfast was very poor and the breakfast itself mediocre. Also the hotel does not have its own private beach section, which meant a good fifteen minute walk to find a sunbed. Hardly any of the staff spoke any English whatsoever, which may not sound like much of a problem, but when you cannot even ask for water, it is. Money changing at the hotel was a huge issue. The first time they rejected what they considered old style notes and the second time it took 40 minutes to change just £20 (new style note), by the time they examined it, referred it, photocopied the note and my passport, faxed it and made a telephone call. None of the above is the kind of service I would expect from a supposed 5 star hotel. Would I stay there again? Probably not.- 11-Dec-2007 |
