Stayed in standard room, overlooking the pool which was small but clean. The standard rooms do vary in size. The pool was out of action for 3 days of the 4 days we were there. Breakfast this time was a bit disappointing, never enough cereal, fruit etc. Also no leeway in choice of breakfast ie toast and scrambled egg, or toast and beans. You had to pay full price with no discount off your buffet breakfast which you had already paid for.....however, all staff pleasant and helpful and overall still a pleasant experience.- 04-Feb-2008 I was pleasantly surprised, the rooms were basic but clean. Staff were all very friendly and happy to help. Continental breakfasts were tasty and well laid out. Location of the lodge very good for bus services, restaurants and location to all amenities. I must point out that I stayed in a standard room in Palm court. If you stayed in a quad room I think you would have been disappointed.- 15-Feb-2007 The facilities are in need of an overhaul. Given its monoploly status, the tariff is steep but not prohibitive. The pool is very small and there was no space available to sit/sunbathe. The restaurant looked very basic and we ate elsewhere. Bar staff were raher casual to the point of curtness. Our sleep was also interrupted as some rooms are provided with a table and chairs outside and our neighbours decided to stay up chatting until 3am. Not overly rowdy - it's just that the rooms have no sound-proofing. Still, until the mooted new resort on the Isaland is built - it's virtually the only saloon in twon! - 29-Jan-2007 |
