I arrived late on Christmas and found the check-in smooth. The room was clean, but a bit dated and had some minor issues. I enjoyed the location, being steps from the Grassmarket. One evening, I ordered room service, and it arrived quickly and was good. The breakfast was basic, so I explored nearby cafes instead. As a European, I appreciated the chance to experience the local atmosphere and events around.

The location was perfect just steps away from amazing places to explore. I loved the breakfast it was well worth it, especially the warm welcome from the staff who even made my day with a Christmas duck as a fun surprise!

It wasn’t exactly budget-friendly, but for what we got, it made sense.

Our room had a stunning view of Edinburgh Castle, making mornings enchanting. The espresso machine was a highlight, and the staff was genuinely friendly, adding a warm touch to our stay.

stayed here expecting a treat but ended up with a twin bed instead of the queen I reserved, how adorable. The shower was a real delight, with hair sticking to the walls. And to top it off, I woudl ve been thrilled with a complimentary gesture for such an inconvenience but alas, I just couldn’t. Disappointing!

I enjoyed my one-night stay and found the location great. The breakfast was nice, and the staff helped with any questions I had. However, I had to walk a bit to get to the other hotel for breakfast, which was a bit inconvenient. I liked that I could easily explore the area during my stay. Overall, it was a solid experience, but not sure I would return.

Exactly what I think – no more, no less

This hotel boasts a brilliant location, just a five-minute walk from the Royal Mile. The City Double Room was roomy and clean, equipped with all essentials. I was impressed with the excellent shower and the attentive staff, who made my stay enjoyable. I’ll definitely return for another visit!

For dads, it would be great to have more family-friendly activities on-site.
